The Bearing Specialists Association announced it has joined other companies and organizations, voting to
embrace the World Bearing Association's strong anticounterfeiting campaign. 5251R9N7.
Companies and organizations agreeing to support the WBA's anticounterfeiting campaign denounce
involvement in counterfeiting anywhere in the supply chain, share news and information regarding
counterfeiting, publish position papers against counterfeiting, and other similar activities. The
BSA has also agreed to review the membership of any member company convicted of selling counterfeit bearings.
Created in 2006, the World Bearing Association's founding members
are the American Bearing Manufacturers Association (ABMA), the
Japanese Bearing Industrial Association (JBIA), and the Federation of European Bearing Manufacturers
Association (FEBMA). Its two primary issues are environmental impact/protection and counterfeiting.
Member companies include Emerson EPT, JTEKT / Koyo, Kaydon, Minebea / NHBB, Nachi, NSK, NTN / SNR,
Schaeffler Group / INA / FAG, SKF, and Timken.

The WBA recently noted its anticounterfeiting efforts in China paid off in 2009. In just three raids it
helped authorities organize, more than 1 million counterfeit industrial bearings were seized. Raids in Guangdong
and Shandong provinces targeted 18 rebranding workshops, 12 packaging facilities, 7 laser marking plants, 5 wholesalers
and 5 warehouses.
