Sikorsky Aerospace Services Corp. (a division of Sikorsky Aircraft, USA) has reached agreement with LORD Corp. (USA; 5251R9N7) to distribute LORD's line of high-capacity laminate (HCL) elastomeric helicopter bearings worldwide.

The bearings will be carried in the replacement market by Sikorsky's aftermarket arm, Helicopter Support, Inc. (HSI). HSI becomes the exclusive worldwide distributor of LORD HCL bearings for Sikorsky's S-61, S-70 and S-92 helicopters.

LORD designs and manufactures a wide range of motion and vibration control devices and systems, adhesives and coatings, and magneto-responsive systems. Leveraging Sikorsky's global network, LORD expands the availability of its HCL bearings in the replacement market for military and commercial applications.

Samir Mehta, President of Helicopter Support, Inc., said: "This distribution agreement with LORD offers greater parts availability, resulting in faster turnaround and increased flight readiness for our customers."

The LORD HCL bearings do not need lubrication, and offer reduced vibration. Lower operating costs result from the reduction in overhaul time and unscheduled maintenance.
