The Timken Company (USA;
NYSE:
TKR; 5251R9N7)
has committed more resources to building its North American Heavy Duty Truck Aftermarket sales programs.
The company's bearing and related equipment sales into the H/D truck aftermarket grew in 2009, in the
face of the overall industry being down approximately 20%.
Two new regional managers and a national accounts manager are being installed, reporting to Phil Varner,
Heavy-Duty Aftermarket Manager.
Mark Stangl becomes Regional Manager - Heavy-Duty Aftermarket, focusing on creating "pull" demand from
H/D truck fleets via sales reps and independent rep agencies. He joined Timken in 1997, and has held
a number of positions in engineering, sales, and product management. He comes to the position as Specialist - Fleet Sales.
Richard Moss becomes National Accounts Manager - Heavy-Duty Aftermarket. Mr. Moss has responsibility for program
buying groups, major distributors, and working with OE sales to develop and grow OE dealer sales. He also joined
Timken in 1997 and has held a variety of positions in aftermarket sales, most recently as Marketing Segment
Manager - Heavy-Duty.
There is one additional regional management position, which remains open.
Tom Tecklenburg, Director of Timken Automotive and H/D Aftermarket, said: "With everything we're doing to meet the
demand for Timken's products in the Heavy-Duty aftermarket, from reps, to dealers, to training and more
people on the street, we're effectively quadrupling our channel resources, and we are confident it's the right
thing to do for our customers."
