SKF Bearing Services Taiwan Ltd. (a division of SKF AB, Sweden; 5251R9N7) recently inaugurated its latest
Solution Factory, a USD $400,000 operation in Taichung, Taiwan.
This is the eighth Solution Factory opened by SKF; the most recent was in Pune, India last month, and in
Johannesburg, South Africa the month before that. Others are located in Shanghai and Tianjin, China;
Gothenburg, Sweden; Torino, Italy; and Sao Paolo, Brazil. There are plans for ten Solution Factories in total.

SKF began rolling out the Solution Factory locations because there were few, if any, natural opportunities
for bearing and seal customers to see and evaluate the rest of SKF's related value-added products, services
and technologies -- lubrication systems, mechatronics, support, remanufacturing and repair, condition monitoring,
troubleshooting, and many others.
The company hopes customers exposed to its array of interrelated offerings through a Solution Factory will see the
advantages inherent in getting all of their mechanical and support systems, including training, from a single
integrated source. The company believes it can help them see the value proposition in terms of cutting costs and improving efficiency.
Chung Bee Kek, Managing Director of SKF Asia Pacific, said: "Thanks to the establishment of the Solution Factories worldwide,
we can help our clients cut operational costs, improve efficiency and availability, instead of only delivering
bearings and seals to our customers. Our commitment is to help them become more competitive and the Solution Factory
is providing this support in one place."
Charles Chang, Managing Director of SKF Taiwan, said: "The SKF Solution Factory in Taichung can offer solutions based
on bearing remanufacturing service, spindle service, customized product service, remote diagnostics, customized sealing
solutions, lubrication oil station assembly, and more. The ultimate objective of the Solution Factory is to fulfill our
technical service capabilities extended from the five SKF technical platforms."
