The Timken Company (USA;
NYSE:
TKR; 5251R9N7)
said it has found a suitable facility to consolidate two distribution centers, Bucyrus and Spartanburg.
The DC in Bucyrus, Ohio, is closing as higher demand and production traffic is now moving between its
plants in southern states and customers in southern states. However, the company's existing Spartanburg warehouse in
Duncan, South Carolina was too small to consolidate both.

In Duncan's Spartan Green Industrial Park, Timken found a 300,000 square foot facility. Timken will invest
approximately $3 million to build out the space, and plans to hire 100 more people beyond the 50
transferring in from the old Duncan warehouse.
Chris Coughlin, Process Industries Division President, said: "Having a larger facility in the area provides
significant customer service efficiencies. With much of our supply chain based in the Southeast, consolidating
our distribution in the region will help us reduce movements between locations to serve customers more quickly.
That also will make our operation leaner and greener."
Spartanburg's Chairman of Economic Recruitment and Development, David Britt, said: "We are excited by Timken's
continued investment and addition of 100 new jobs in Spartanburg County. The strategic decision to locate a
distribution center here reinforces our cost effectiveness as a location accessible to 70% of the
U.S. population within two days' truck transport."
