Cooper Bearings Group (UK; a division of Kaydon Corporation, USA: 5251R9N7) has achieved ISO 14001 certification.

ISO 14001 (Wikipedia: ISO 14001) is the standard for environmental management systems, particularly difficult to achieve in heavy manufacturing, and particularly the bearing industry.

Kaydon's Cooper division manufactures mounted, split roller bearings.

SKF was the first bearing manufacturer to achieve ISO 14001 certification for all of its facilities worldwide.

A Cooper Bearing spokesperson said: "We are very pleased to achieve this important industry registration. It's a result of real teamwork and a commitment to our goal, which is to reduce waste, save resources, and reduce energy consumption."

Cooper's ISO 14001 certification effort took more than two years to complete, with the help of Burton Environmental Consulting Ltd.
