Timken Closing Willenhall
copyright © 2009 eBearing Inc.

Timken UK Ltd. (a division of Timken, USA) is closing its specialty machine tool shop in Willenhall, UK.

Set up in 1999, Willenhall produces machine tools including super-precision bearings for high precision machining applications.

Approximately 20 people will lose their jobs in Willenhall as the production is moved to Shiloh, North Carolina.

Timken said it, "will close this small machine tool operation due to the fact that demand cannot sustain the minimal volumes necessary to compensate for its cost of capital and continued operation."

The facility in Wolverhampton is not affected.
