Fire Destroys Kaman Port Angeles

Kaman Industrial Technologies (a division of Kaman Corp., USA) saw its Port Angles, Washington branch destroyed by an overnight fire. No one was injured.

Fire department reports indicate the blaze originated in the Kaman office and spread to an adjoining business, Jesse Bay Cabinetry, which was also destroyed. Other tenant properties in the building were damaged.

Investigators reported the offices had no fire detection or sprinkler systems, and Port Angeles' Fire Chief indicated the blaze was likely burning for, "a considerable period of time," before it was discovered.

Kaman's Port Angeles office stocked a selection of bearings and power transmission components, primarily to service existing customers in the immediate area.

Port Angles employees are temporarily relocating the operation to run out of Kaman's branch in Tacoma.
