PME Babbitt Bearing Considers Maysville
copyright © 2009 eBearing Inc.

Plant Maintenance Engineering (PME) Babbitt Bearings [website] is reportedly seeking to add a fourth location, in the Maysville, Kentucky area. The company has operations in Atlanta, Georgia; Cincinnati, Ohio; and Reno, Nevada.

PME manufactures -- through centrifugal casting and static pour -- machines, grinds, and inspects and refurbishes babbitt bearings, thrust plates, pressure seals and similar heavy-duty babbitt applications.

The company also offers 24-hour availability to repair all types of babbitt applications where downtime is costly and disrupts production -- power turbines and generators, nuclear facilities, mills, marine, mining, pulp and paper processing, and other heavy industries.

PME is reportedly in site selection for a 21,000 square foot facility in the Maysville area, budgeted at approximately $2 million and which would create 20 new jobs.

The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority (KEDFA; website) met in late January and, based on PME's $2 million investment target, has approved a tax credit incentive package for the project, valued at approximately USD $750,000 over its life.
