SKF AB (Sweden; Stockholm: SKFA) announced that its seal manufacturing business (formerly Chicago Rawhide, acquired in 1990) has won a major contract to supply high-quality seals in China.

Guangdong Fuwa Engineering signed a 3-year contract for SKF to supply at least 600,000 premium Scotseal wheel bearing seals for heavy-duty trailer axles.

Founded in 1997, Fuwa is Asia's largest manufacturer and supplier of semi-trailer parts and related components. Fuwa also supplies other trailer manufacturers and operators with axles, suspension systems, fifth wheel and kingpin parts and related components such as trailer parking jacks. Within its capacity, Fuwa is able to manufacture up to 800,000 heavy-duty trailer axles per year.

The order for Scotseals is also important because it marks a breakthrough market win for imported premium quality seals going into China for use in mainstream products and applications.
