World Index
[
website], NSK for
the eighth year running and SKF for its ninth.
Launched in 1999, the DSJI attempts to identify top long-term performers among the 2,500 largest companies
in the Dow Jones Wilshire Global Index. Rather than a purely financial ranking, the DSJI evaluates on
the basis of long-term economic performance, coupled with long-term nonfinancial performance criteria.
The latter are deemed key to maintaining long-term financial performance.
DSJI World includes 320 companies from 26 countries; NSK and 35 others are based in Japan, SKF
is one of four based in Sweden.
According to the Index, "The underlying research methodology accounts for general as well as industry-specific
sustainability trends and evaluates corporations based on a variety of criteria including
climate change strategies, energy consumption, human resources development, knowledge management,
stakeholder relations and corporate governance."
