Kaman Corp. (USA;
NASDAQ:
KAMN)
has acquired Industrial Rubber and Mechanics (INRUMEC), with four locations across Puerto Rico and
annual sales of approximately USD $13 million.
INRUMEC will become part of Kaman's distribution unit, home of the
company's wide-ranging bearing and power transmission components distribution business. Founded in 1963,
INRUMEC's primary focus is hydraulic and fluid power products, where it manufactures hydraulic hose
assemblies; it also distributes belting and conveyer systems; pipe, tube, fittings and valves; and packaging
machinery. End markets range from industrial to food and beverage, pharmaceutical, cement and aggregate.
Recently focusing more resources to industrial distribution, Kaman is North America's third-largest
distributor of bearings and power transmission products. KIT carries almost 3 million SKUs in 200
branches, DCs and customer service centers across the U. S., Canada and Mexico. KIT also offers a variety
of value-added services. Kaman's other business unit is a key player in airframe components aerospace
component supply markets.
Kaman has been expanding the number of distribution branch operations, and earlier this year acquired
Industrial Supply Corp.
