Wafangdian City has been awarded the title China's Bearing Capital.

Although specific details of the selection process are hazy, local officials gave presentations to a panel which included representatives of the China Machinery Industry Association and several bearing industry related organizations.

The group then visited manufacturers in the area, in this case including Dalian Kaitele, ZWZ, Wafangdian Yuandong Bearing, Wafangdian Bearing, and Wafangdian Metallurgy and Mining Bearing Company.
