GGB Bearing Technology (formerly Glacier Garlock Bearings, USA, a division of EnPro Industries; website) announced it has acquired one of its key suppliers, precision injection molding company Böhringer Kunststofftechnik GmbH (Germany, website).

Böhringer specializes in precision injection molding of high-performance plastics, including tool-making, mold-making, and rapid prototyping. Target markets are automotive, appliances, communications equipment, electronic equipment and measurement devices.

GGB President, Bernd Fischer, said: "We have been sourcing our solid-polymer offerings from Böhringer for the past two years. Now that the company is part of the GGB family, we will be able to even further leverage its expertise and capabilities in this important product sector."

Böhringer will be renamed GGB Kuntstoff-Technologie GmbH, and become a division of GGB's subsidiary, GGB Heilbronn GmbH.

GGB Kuntstoff will remain in Sinsheim-Hilsbach, Germany, where it employs approximately 60 people. Equipment includes 25 ton to 300 ton injection molding machines, machine tools, CNC machining centers, and CAD workstations.

Formerly part of Goodrich, GGB Bearing Technology is the world's largest manufacturer of prelubricated and self-lubricating metal-polymer plain bearings. The company has 24 operating units in 20 countries, including bearing manufacturing facilities in Brazil, China, France, Germany, India, Slovakia, and the United States.
