The Timken Company (USA;
NYSE:
TKR)
announced an arrangement with Weir Canada, Inc., to provide chock bearing
service to Canadian metals manufacturers.

Chocks are essentially massive plain bearings in housings, used to control steel
sheet movement in rolling mills.
Weir's arrangement with Timken is currently limited to this segment and product.
Founded in 1897 and headquartered in Ontario, Weir is one of Canada's
largest providers of equipment maintenance,
process support and asset management in conventional power generation and renewable
energy, oil and gas, water, marine, and general industry. The company currently
employs approximately 8,000 people.
Weir's Charles Laarhuis said: "Weir and Timken are similarly dedicated to supplying
solutions to industrial customers, and we both share a repuation for helping our
customers improve performance. Timken is the kind of company that meets our criteria
for the service relationships that we value."
Timken said it will provide training in specialized mill repair service, techincal
assistance and other necessary support to Weir.
