Jamaica Bearings (USA; [website]) announced plans to move to a single brand for its entire product range.

Founded in 1925, Jamaica has gradually come to encompass a variety of related businesses. The newly-named Jamaica Bearings Group will bring all of the company's varied operations and under a single branding and operating strategy.

Included in Jamaica Bearings Group are: Jamaica Bearings Company, Jamaica Aerospace, Jamaica Miniature Bearings, and Cambridge Manufacturing.

The company said this master branding strategy is designed to bring a single unified face and appearance to its customer base.

President Peter Negri said: "Although we are now a 'Group,' each member company will continue to maintain its own product, industry knowledge and expertise, and while the 'Group' will be able to draw on our resources as a whole. The Jamaica name signifies that each company will also deliver world-class support, services and products; or, as we have said for the past 81 years, 'Quality Everyday, Every Way.'"

Jamaica is a key distributor of bearings to the aerospace, military, industrial and rail markets. Jamaica Aerospace supplies seals and value-added components to the commercial and military aviation markets. Jamaica Miniature Bearings supplies special-production miniature bearings to the computer disk drive, dental, medical and industrial markets. Cambridge supports the aerospace PMA market, in addition to bearing NDT, Comparative Analysis, and Performance Testing and Monitoring.
