INA Schaeffler (Germany, parent of INA Bearing and FAG Bearing) confirmed it will spend at least € 100 million (USD $127 million) to construct another new bearing manufacturing facility in Romania.

This latest project, scheduled for completion by the end of 2007, is reportedly a plant dedicated to manufacturing large industrial bearings, wind power generator bearings, and related industrial sizes.

The new plant will be in the same area around Brasov as its existing facilities which produce automotive and industrial bearings and components for European automakers and industrial equipment.

To date, INA has invested more than € 200 million ($250 million) across three manufacturing facilities in Romania, and the heavily industrialized Brasov area specifically.

Alexandru Blemovici, Brasov's General Manager, told a local financial paper: "The group made the decision to boost its investment in Romania, as we have seen very good results here so far, and Romania is still interesting in terms of labor costs"
