Service Network Expanding Plant to Meet Grinder Demand

Service Network Inc. (USA; on the web at
http://www.sni-grinders.com)
said it is embarking on a major expansion,
targeting a 50% increase in total manufacturing facilities.
SNI manufactures high precision ID and OD grinding machines, primarily for the bearing industry
but also used to manufacture automotive, aerospace and industrial components. SNI is North America's largest
manufacturer of new high production ID and OD grinders.
The company said the added capacity at its Worcester, Massachusetts plant will enable it to
create badly-needed space for expansion.
First, it will allow SNI space to dedicate assembly lines and boost production of new and
remanufactured High Production ID and OD grinders, to meet its share of the generally increasing
worldwide demand for grinders, and bearing grinders in particular.
Second, the expansion allows it to better address continued strong demand for
Heald grinder retrofit packages.
Third, space is being dedicated to a new grinder under development, a
new concept, high performance compact grinder, slated for introduction late in 2006.
Finally, additional space for engineering and customer conference areas will also be part of the expansion.
Service Network was founded in 1984, strictly to rebuild and remanufacture Heald Machine Company grinders.
It has evolved over the years from the Heald business, to manufacturing its own line of
grinders.
