FAG Celebrating Brand Centennial

FAG Kugelfischer (Germany, a division of INA Schaeffler Group, Germany) is celebrating 100 years as a bearing brand. Top management and state dignitaries attended the event, including Bavaria's State Premier / Minister President, Dr. Edmund Stoiber.

Offering his congratulations, Premier Stoiber said, "The FAG brand stands for top German performance," and pointed out FAG's long-term importance to the German economy.

Schweinfurt Mayor Gudrun Grieser praised the company and its part in making Schweinfurt the home of the modern bearing industry.

Presentations were also made by Norbert Lenhard, Works Council President; Franz-Rudolph Esch, University Professor and Director of the Institute for Brand and Communication Research; and Robert Schullan, Chairman of Schaeffler Group Industrial. The "Kugelfischer Choir" also performed.

Schaeffler Group President and CEO, Dr. Jurgen Geissinger, spoke, pointing out the expectations from merging INA and FAG have been exceeded. He said, "INA and FAG complement each other perfectly, not only as far as products are concerned, but also in terms of engineering expertise, manufacturing competence, and global presence."

Schaeffler Group's private owner, Maria-Elisabeth Schaeffler, said reaching the centennial proves the FAG brand has stayed true to its performance promise, representing high levels of reliability and authenticity. She said, "FAG is an original that has provided ample evidence of its qualities."

Ms. Schaeffler concluded, offering special acknowledgement to the workforce, "... since the success story of the FAG brand is also the story of all those generations who have worked for FAG."

The FAG trademark was registered July 29, 1905.
