Timken Industrial Adds National Seals

The Timken Company (USA) and Federal-Mogul Corporation (USA) have signed an agreement for Timken
to carry F-M's National brand seals in the U.S. and Canada.
Timken will put National seals into its industrial product line, in Timken brand boxes, starting this May.
The arrangement does not involve the automotive aftermarket or heavy-duty aftermarket.
In the U.S. and Canada, Timken and Timken distributors then become the exclusive source for National industrial
seals. Timken will also take over supplying National's OEM industrial customers.
Federal-Mogul will continue to independently market National seals to its industrial customers
outside the U.S. and Canada.
The industrial sealing solution product line now will now encompass oil seals, grease seals, fluid sealing,
and dirt exclusion products. Coverage includes seals up to 13" bore, and F-M's Redi-Seal,
Redi-Sleeve, Redi-Coat, Shaft Repair Kits, and V-seal products.

With Timken's strengths in the industrial market
and the quality of National sealing products from Federal-Mogul, the bottom line advantage is that the customer
can now access premier industrial bearing and seal technologies from a single source."
Timken's industrial sealing lineup from Federal-Mogul becomes:
- Redi-Seal service: made-to-order custom seals
- Redi-Sleeve: sleeves to repair worn or grooved shafts
- Shaft Repair Kits: alternative to shaft replacements
- Coverage of metric-size applications and high-temperature applications
- V-seals for high-contaminate environments
- Redi-Coat: patented sealant for a poorly finished or damaged bore.
Timken will also offer tools for seal installation, removal and specification.
Federal-Mogul indicated the arrangement with Timken was, "long-term," but did not elaborate, and neither
company offered any estimates of projected sales volume or value.
