A number of bearing industry shows and seminars are coming up ...
October 28-30, 2004
American Bearing Manufacturers' Association 2004 Annual Conference
Don CeSar Beach Resort, St. Pete Beach, Florida (near Tampa)
The theme is, "Changes, Trends and Analysis for Tomorrow's Challenges." With a wide variety
of sponsors -- including SKF, Timken, Tsubaki Hoover, Nachi, NTN, Saint-Gobain, and Barden/INA/FAG --
the ABMA's convention promises to bring together most of the U.S.-based power hitters.
Although the schedule of events currently has a number of open presentation slots, as with most conferences,
the networking opportunities are where it's at. Plus, there's a golf outing at the Bardmoor Golf and Tennis Club.
Note that after October 1, you're into the extremely-late / on-site registration period, and
into the hotel's "rooms as available" pool.

using lectures and hands-on workshops. The workshops have been selected to highlight common maintenance
problems that result in premature bearing failure.

whose duties include the installation and maintenance of antifriction bearings.
Participants will also learn the correct procedures for mounting a wide variety of bearings, and the

9th Biennial International Bearing Industry Exhibition for China
Shanghai Everbright Convention and Exhibition Centre, Shanghai, China
Held concurrently with Machine Components 2005, this biennial Exhibition generously claims more than 81,000
buyers from 38 countries attended the last convention in 2003 amidst the SARS outbreak. The 2005 event, its
first since China joined the World Trade Organization, is expected to draw at least 400 exhibitors.
Although foreigners are sometimes reluctant to travel to Shanghai and face its population of over
13 million, it is the largest economic and trade
center in the country, and its most cosmopolitan city. The draw from China's exploding
base of bearing manufacturers should make this an important event.
There will also be a number of seminars and presentations covering marketing trends and technology advancements.
