copyright © 2004 eBearing Inc.
Dover Corporation (USA) has acquired US Synthetic Corporation (USA) as part of its Dover
Resources subsidiary.
Founded in 1978, US Synthetic is the leading manufacturer of oilfield downhole bearings and wear parts.
The company's primary product line, and what it was originally organized to produce, is polycrystalline
diamond cutters used in oilfield drill bits.
US Synthetic will become part of Dover's Energy Products Group, within its Dover Resources
subsidiary. Dover's Energy Products Group companies target the drilling, completion and production
of oil and gas wells.
The management team at US Synthetic is expected to stay largely in place, with Louis Pope
remaining President.
Terms of the acquisition were not immediately disclosed.
