Minebea Co., Ltd. (Japan) revealed its second recent restructuring move. The first involved new operations in China; this involves U.S. operations.

• article: the Minebea China reorganization

Minebea is the world's largest manufacturer of miniature and precision instrument bearings. In bearings and other products, it employs 45,000 people in 39 manufacturing facilities across 10 countries. Minebea commands a 65% world market share of ball bearings 22mm and under.

Minebea's North American operating division, NMB USA Inc., is reorganizing its NMB Technologies Corp. (USA) divisions: the product-oriented Technologies Division and Precision Components Division.

The new structure divides NMB Technologies into three market-segment-oriented companies:
- Global Account Sales Group
- Commercial Sales Group
- Automotive Sales Group

In addition to bearings, Minebea/NMB produces cooling solutions, audio components, keyboards, power supplies and automotive components.

Each of the three new groups will offer all NMB products to the customers in its market segment, promoting both deeper understanding of the customers' needs and the ability to sell integrated solutions.

Marty Yamanaka, President of NMB Technologies Corporation, said, "NMB believes the organizational change will provide our customers with the global resources necessary to succeed in today's business climate."
