SKF AB (Sweden) is reorganizing and forming a new division, the Aero and Steel Division.

This new Division's President will be Kaj Thoren, a 26-year veteran of SKF and currently Senior Vice President of Aerospace, Other Businesses and Group Business Development. Mr. Thoren will also become a member of the SKF Executive Committee.

SKF's current CFO, Tore Bertilsson, will take on the additional duties of Purchasing and Business Development for the new Division.

Aero and Steel Division breaks out several different SKF operations. Included are:
  • Aeroengine Bearings
  • Airframe Components
  • CR Aerospace
  • Forgings and Rings
  • Ovako Steel
The reorganization also breaks up U.S.-based CR (formerly Chicago-Rawhide) Seals, spreading it across SKF's other three divisions:

Automotive Division absorbs CR Americas, CR Asia and CR Automotive Europe.

Industrial Division absorbs CR Industrial Europe.

Electrical Division absorbs Bearing Seals, including RFT Italy, RFT Bethlehem, and CR India.
