Wenzel Downhole Tools Ltd. (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) has acquired
CN & LT, along with its patent-pending drill bearing system.
Drill bearings both stabilize and locate the drilling apparatus
in the hole. They require a thrust bearing component to carry the
load of the bit, and a radial bearing component to maintain
proper location for the spinning shaft within the hole.
The patented CN & LT design claims to offer longer service life due to
pressure balancing, combined with a third radial bearing
and other proprietary changes to the bearings.
