copyright © 2001 eBearing Inc.
SKF AB (Sweden), the world's largest bearing manufacturer, announced
it will cut production in the current quarter by as much as 10%.
A continued slide in North American and industrial markets has now
spread to most of its other customers across Europe and Asia. SKF indicated
the cutbacks are designed to preemptively address a "significant" risk
the downturns will continue to worsen, perhaps through first quarter 2002.
