Timken's Stephen Perry Confirmed
as Bush Administration GSA Administrator

Timken Company (Canton, Ohio) Senior VP Stephen Perry has been confirmed by the U.S. senate as President Bush's Administrator of the General Services Administration.

President Bush announced his nomination of Mr. Perry for the post back on March 21. Mr. Perry took early retirement from Timken on March 31. He was a 37-year veteran of Timken and even attended Timken High School.

Mr. Perry's position is an important one in the U.S. Government. The GSA handles office and supplies procurement, management and reporting services for over 1 million government employees. The GSA itself employs more than 14,000 people with an annual budget of $15.5 billion.
