Xiangyang Reports Operating Loss for 2000

Xiangyang Automobile Bearing Co., Ltd. (Hubei province, China) reported an operating loss of RMB 56.1 million (USD $6.95 million) for 2000.

As China's largest manufacturer of automotive bearings, Xiangyang produces approximately 23 million bearings every year. The company's product line includes over 2,000 part numbers of tapered roller bearings, ball bearings, needle roller bearings, clutch release bearings and collars, wheel hub and bearing units, water pump bearings, alternator/generator/compressor bearings, and constant velocity joints.

Xiangyang is a state-run company, currently employing approximately 6,000 workers and listed on the Shenzhen stock exchange.
