Applied Industrial Technologies (Cleveland, Ohio; formerly Bearings Inc.) announced it has opened its first service center in Mexico, in Mexico City.

Operating as Applied Mexico, S.A. de C.V., the company is a joint venture with a local company, Baleros y Herramientas de Precision.

Applied Mexico will supply bearings, power transmission products, industrial rubber products, fluid power components and specialty maintenance items to customers in a broad cross-section of Mexican industry.

Todd Bartlett, VP of Global Business Development, commented, "In responding to customers' needs, we found it was important to have a stake in the Mexican marketplace. Beyond large multinational companies, the marketplace includes businesses in a wide variety of industry using products in both maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) applications."
