General Bearing Second Quarter 2000
Sales Down, Profits Up

General Bearing Company (West Nyack, New York) announced mixed operating results for 2000's second quarter.
Second quarter sales were down 4% from 1999, from $14.4 million to $13.8 million.
However, the company's net income rose sharply, up 12% from 1Q1999's $1.0 million,
to $1.1 million in 2Q2000.
Sales for the first six months of 2000 were essentially flat compared to 1999: $28.4 million
vs. $28.2 million.
General Bearing manufactures and distributes bearings under the General and Hyatt brands.
