Second Quarter 2000 Results

Genuine Parts (Atlanta, Georgia), parent of bearing distributor Motion Industries,
reported second quarter 2000 operating results.
Sales increased from $2 billion in 1999 to $2.1 billion in second quarter 2000, while net
income rose from $92.5 million to $96.5 million for the quarter.
For the six months ended June 30, 2000, sales were $4.2 billion, up from $3.9
billion in 1999 and Net Income rose from $178.6 million to $188.3 million.
Separate results for the Motion Industries operation were not immediately available.
