copyright © 2000 eBearing Inc.
Rockwell International Corporation reported strong earnings gains for its fiscal
third quarter, ended June 30, 2000.
Rockwell is the parent company of Dodge industrial bearings.
Sales for the quarter rose from $1.81 billion to $1.82 billion, with net income
climbing 13%, from $150 million to $170 million.
Analysts had expected Rockwell to earn $0.87 per share, and the unexpectedly good
results of $0.90 per share drove the stock price up by almost 3 points.
Although Rockwell indicated that sales in the segment of the business where Dodge
operates were soft in the quarter, no specific results relating to Dodge were
immediately available.
