Second Quarter 2000 Operating Results

Emerson Electric Company (New York) reported second quarter 2000 operating results.
The company's fiscal year begins October 1.
Emerson Electric operates bearing manufacturing companies under the brand names
of McGill, Browning, Morse, Rollway and Sealmaster.
Net sales for 2Q2000 were $3.8 billion, up from $3.6 billion in 2Q1999 and Net
income increased to $352 million from $326 million the year previous. Fully
diluted Earnings Per Share rose from 2Q1999 $ 0.74 to 2Q2000 $ 0.82.
Separate operating results for McGill, Browning, Morse, Rollway and Sealmaster were
not immediately available from the company.
