Applied Industrial Technologies Changes
NYSE Ticker from APZ to AIT

Applied Industrial Technologies (Cleveland, Ohio), formerly Bearings Inc., announced
that it will change its NYSE ticker symbol from APZ to AIT.
Until recently, AIT had been used by Ameritech Corporation, which was acquired by
SBC Corporation in October 1999.
The company indicated the change would be worthwhile as many investors are confused
by Applied Industrial Technology being APZ. AIT better represents the company's name
and will significantly reduce confusion among shareholders and investors.
