Analysts Expect Manufacturing to Recover Slightly in Early 2000

A number of industrial manufacturing analysts have decided that manufacturing will recover
in the first quarter of 2000, or at least offer no negative surprises.
Throughout 1999, industrial manufacturers faced not only a decline in demand for their
products but also pricing pressure and a falling out of favor with investors favoring
new-economy stocks.
