SKF is selling its grinding machine and machine-tool manufacturing operation. LMT, Lidkoping Machine Tools AB, is being sold to Karolin Machine Tool AB for cash and transfer of LMT's debt.       And SKF is still making strategic acquisitions. The company recently acquired 70% of the Dutch service company Machine Support BV. Machine Support specializes in precision geometric alignment and rotating machine alignment, primarily for the offshore and marine markets. SKF intends to take the alignment expertise and apply it to machine tools, industrial machinery, and other heavy industry applications. Machine Support has operations in the Benelux countries, but also recently established operations in Spain, Germany and the United States.
