Announcing some good news for segments of the bearing industry, the Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association (Naples, Florida) announced that sales of conveyor equipment and supplies have been up significantly during 2000.

Conveyor equipment manufacturers and suppliers logged $4 billion in new orders during the first six months of 2000, up 20% from 1999.

Sales of complete conveyor systems were also up. Unit-handling conveyor sales increased 21%, while bulk-handling conveyor sales were up 7%.
