  Position Description
Sales Engineers are the technical experts and are responsible for growth in the assigned territory, including prospecting for new business and developing assigned accounts.

They establish close contact with all relevant customers, purchasing, engineering, quality and manufacturing personnel in order to provide solutions to all of their potential bearing needs.

To provide world class customer support and to develop new opportunities, successful candidates will travel to customers sites.

Sales experience in one or more of the following industries is highly desirable: aerospace, renewable energy, oil & gas, pump, compressor or turbo machinery, marine & offshore, packaging, cranes, construction and agricultural equipment.

Candidates should have a proven record of success through growing sales in new accounts, developing new applications and winning business from competitors.

Candidates should demonstrate a positive attitude, personal initiative and willingness to take on new challenges.


  Position Responsibilities
  • The management and growth of the sales territory

  • Read and interpret customer drawings to identify opportunities and recommend/design bearing solutions

  • Ensure all commercial, engineering, technical and quality issues are addressed and resolved

  • Monitor the accuracy and timeliness of quotations, sample and initial production shipments

  • Maintain effective communication with the business units with respect to business trends, marketing conditions and competitive changes

  • Coordinate and organize visits to plants and technical sites to ensure that customer needs and requirements are being met

  • Actively participate in achieving corporate and divisional goals and objectives relative to quality, cost, profit, return on sales, productivity, customer service, and adherence to budget goals

  • Stay current in regards to new product development and manufacturing changes which are relevant to the customer to better meet their needs

  • Utilize CRM system to effectively manage assigned accounts and to develop new opportunities in territory

  • Develop and execute sales plan/forecast, long-term strategic plan

  • Monitor and assist in settling aging accounts receivable

  • Perform detailed customer presentations

  Experience and Qualifications
  • Mechanical Engineering degree preferred;
    Bachelor of Science degree in a related field required

  • 3 to 5 years outside technical sales / design experience in OEM industrial manufacturing

  • Previous bearing industry experience is preferred

  Education
Mechanical Engineering degree preferred; Bachelor of Science degree in a related field required
